Swift Creek Animal Hospital -  Response to COVID-19

Due to the evolving concerns surrounding COVID-19, we will be doing our part to prevent or slow community spread of the novel virus. As recommended by the CDC, we will be implementing measures to promote social distancing to protect both clients and staff alike.

Effective March 23rd, 2020 – May 4th, 2020 (End date to be determined):

  1. Our hours of operation will be adjusted to Monday – Friday 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. We will be closed on Saturdays.  It is our hope to resume normal business hours beyond these dates, but as you all know, the situation is fluid and is subject to change. We are working to contact all appointments currently scheduled should adjustments need to be made. 

  2. In effort to keep Dr. Gintis healthy and safe, he will not be in the office or available for appointments until further notice. We have three other wonderful veterinarians that will be happy to see your pet(s) until his return.

  3. We will continue to see all appointments on a drop-off basis with the exception of sensitive matters. We will email you a short questionnaire to complete and send back prior to your scheduled drop off time. When you arrive, please walk up to the door and a staff member will assist you. We implore you to always have your pets on a leash or in a carrier. While the exam is taking place, you may wait in your vehicle. A doctor will call you once a plan is in order and to address any questions. We will escort your pet back to you and take payment via wireless credit card terminal once you are both safely in your vehicle. We can also accept card payments over the phone.

  4. We are limiting the facility to hospital personnel only. Please stop at the front door, and a staff member will assist you. We are more than happy to bring any items for pick up to your vehicle.

  5. We are limiting surgeries to emergent surgeries only for the time being. We apologize for any inconvenience and will be happy to get routine surgeries rescheduled in the coming weeks.

  6. Effective April 1st, 2020: As recommended by NCVMB, we are only scheduling urgent appointments until further notice. If your pet is not boarding or dayboarding at a facility that requires they be up-to-date, we will need to postpone any routine health maintenance visits at this time. This includes nail trims and baths. If there are medical concerns that you would like addressed, please call our office to speak with our team and we can get you scheduled accordingly. 

What you can do:

  1. Please be patient with us during this unprecedented time as we strive to provide excellent patient care while keeping our team and others safe.

  2. If you or someone in your household has traveled to affected areas, or experienced a fever, cough, or flu-like symptoms within 14 days of your scheduled appointment, please notify us as soon as possible.  We will happily reschedule your appointment to a future date at no additional cost or fees to you. If your pet needs to be seen, please allow another family member or friend to bring them to us.

  3. Stay connected for updates. We will continue to keep you informed via email and Facebook as new developments on COVID-19 arises.
